Construction near the Bridge

11 x 15 in  -  28 x 39 cm     Watercolor

This one tightened up on me more than I wanted. So, I just said to myself, "there are times when you just have to, go with the flow".

Manon, Pinmill

10 x 14 in  -  25 x 36 cm     Watercolor

Painted from a photo I took a year or so ago. I have stood infront of this cluster of boats many times and have never done a good job.

Charles Reid has a DVD out in which he paints them very well (of course). This inspired me to have another go. Way better than before. The Manon is the boat in the back. I think this must be the most painted group of boats in the UK. Lots of painting classes come to see them. There is a free public loo behind (with water of course) and a nice pub to the right for lunch. The pub is called the Butt and Oyster, also much painted by the likes of Wesson.

If you want to see Charles Reid's painting then this clip has him in action. Manon is in the last 20 seconds or so.
